Known locally as "Las Gallinitas de Julia" (Julia's hen's). The terracotta casserole version of Julia's Bowl of Illusions is a great option to serve soups, a bean stew, or an amuse bouche.
The beauty of the terracotta material is the way it ages with time, slowly transforming as it builds up a unique patina from daily use. The more it is used, the more full of character it becomes.
Julia and her son Don Carlos run the family workshop named after her, Cerámicas Julia; a business venture that started over 50 years ago out of the need for young Doña Julia to help her parents support her 10 siblings. Today, Cerámicas Julia contributes to the social and economic wellbeing of the overall community of Guaduas.
