These terracotta twin vases were once used in ceremonies of union by pre-hispanic communities. The symbolism of these ‘Alcarrazas' thus makes these beautiful decorative vessels more precious and unique.

Héctor Andrey Sierra Castillo is our youngest artisan partner. I had the honor of meeting him during one of my sourcing trips to Colombia. Based in the town of Ráquira which is known for its fine quality terracotta clay, Andrey's technique is unlike any other I have come across. Together with his girlfriend they lead the workshop of Pangüa Ráquira, through which he is devoted to rescuing old-time ceramic making techniques and bringing back to life heirlooms from his region.
