Julia's appetizer-sized birds nest terracotta plate is a beautifully textured layering piece. It can be used to serve hors d'oeuvres or sides at the dinner table. We love that it’s rusticity contrasts well against a contemporary choice of dinnerware, whilst remaining a perfect complement to any of Julia's bowls.
The beauty of the terracotta material is the way it ages with time, slowly transforming as it builds up a unique patina from daily use. The more it is used, the more full of character it becomes.
Julia and her son Don Carlos run the family workshop named after her, Cerámicas Julia; a business venture that started over 50 years ago out of the need for young Doña Julia to help her parents support her 10 siblings. Today, Cerámicas Julia contributes to the social and economic wellbeing of the overall community of Guaduas.
