Growing up in Colombia, childhood memories of road side travel always included a stop at the famous 'rancheritos', where these oversized pots of La Chamba on wood fire stoves were awaiting travelers with the traditional 'frijolada' (typical rice and bean).
We would dare say this should be a worldwide kitchen staple ! La Chamaba's paella bowl is perfect for cooking a wide assortment of things : from soups and stews, to meats and fish .. it's a dream ! This earthenware can be used to cook on a stove, oven or even on open fire.
Rosa Magnolia Salazar is the leading artisan of Punto y arte, a small yet highly skilled workshop composed of 12 family members. They are part of the larger community of La Chamba, a town that is solely dedicated to, and subsists from the production of this ancient earthenware technique.
