I spotted these ‘cebollita’ clay vases during my last visit to Laurearte's workshop from a rack of unfinished pieces. These particular cebollitas strike the right balance between rustic textures and contemporary forms. Collect one or mix all three to make a more striking statement. Each ceramic vase comes in an array of earth tones that result from their exposure to the flame when fired. Not one piece is alike.

Designed and handcrafted by Laureano Melo in the colorful town of Ráquira; well known for its terracotta industry. The youngest of 13 siblings, Laureano learned pottery at a very young age whilst watching and helping his mother - a potter maker, who sustained her family through her artistic skill. Together with his wife Claudia, Laureano later founded his own workshop Laurearte creating distinctive pieces that combine traditional methods with a clean and contemporary design approach, differentiating himself from the pottery making that Ráquira is well-known for.
